Point Refunds

This section explains the return of points.

This section describes the return of points consumed by the computation node.

1. About point refunds

Cloud Bouquet will return points for the cancellation of a compute node reservation or the early termination of a compute node in use.
Points are refunded at the point rate applied to the points consumed at the time of booking.
The points refund rate is defined for each compute node specification.
Please refer to Appendix 1 of Terms of service for the refund rate per specification of the calculation node.

TIPS!
The expiry date of the points to be refunded is the expiry date of the points used at the time of booking. If there is a decimal number at the time of the points return, the points will be returned rounded up.
For example, if the return rate is applied to the points used and the return rate is 30.2 points, 31 points will be returned.

2. Points refund for cancelled bookings

Points will be refunded for performing a cancellation of a reserved calculation node.
The percentage of points returned for cancelled bookings depends on when the cancellation was made. The following chart explains how points are refunded when a booking is cancelled.

refund1.png

The percentage of points refunded for cancelled bookings depends on the scheduled start time of the booked calculation node and the date and time of the cancellation.
In the diagram above, the refund rate is set at 100% for cancellations made more than 168 hours before the scheduled start time, 50% for cancellations made more than 24 hours but less than 168 hours before the scheduled start time, and 20% for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time.
If a cancellation is made under ‘Cancellation pattern 1’ then it is ‘more than 168 hours before the scheduled start time’, so a ‘100% refund rate’ applies and ‘150 points’ of the points used at the time of booking will be refunded.
Next, if you cancel under ‘Cancellation pattern 2’, ‘more than 24 hours but less than 168 hours before the scheduled start time’, then a ‘50% refund rate’ applies and the 150 points used at the time of booking plus a 50% refund rate of ‘75 points’ will be refunded. The points will be refunded.
Finally, if the cancellation is made in ‘Cancellation pattern 3’, i.e. ‘24 hours before the scheduled start time’, a ‘20% refund rate’ will be applied and ‘30 points’ will be refunded, i.e. the 150 points used at the time of booking plus a 20% refund rate.

TIPS!
For details on cancelling reserved compute nodes, please refer to How to use compute node.

3. Refund of points due to early termination of the use of the server

The reserved compute node is ready for use when the startup process is executed at the scheduled time of use.
The available compute nodes are available for use until the scheduled end time set during the reservation operation.
The available compute nodes can perform an early termination before the scheduled termination time is reached.
Points are also refunded when a compute node is terminated early. It is explained in the diagram below.

For early termination of a compute node, a fixed rate of return is applied to the number of points consumed minus the amount used at the time of reservation.
Although the timing of the termination process differs between Early Termination 1 and Early Termination 2, the applicable rate of return is 20% for both.
In the case of Early Termination 1, ‘120 points’ (150 points minus ‘30 points’ for actual use) are eligible for refund.
The actual points to be returned will be 120 points plus a return rate of 20%, or ‘24 points’.
In the case of Early Termination 2, ‘90 points’ will be deducted from the 150 points and ‘12 points’ will be returned after applying the 20% refund rate.

TIPS!
For details on early termination, please refer to How to use compute node.
